Wrestling Australia Life Membership

Life Membership is the highest honour that can be bestowed by Wrestling Australia for longstanding and valued service to the sport of Wrestling and Associated Styles in Australia.

The sole and primary objectives for awarding a Wrestling Australia Life Membership is;

“To publicly recognise and honour the outstanding dedications, loyalty, service and/or contribution that an individual has made over a period of time or as a result of as significant milestone and/or achievement to Wrestling in Australia”.

 

Life Memberships Categories

It is recognised that many individuals give countless hours of their time, unquestionable loyalty and a dedicated service to Wrestling in Australia in a number of different roles. Wrestling Australia acknowledges that without these dedicated people, the sport of Wrestling cannot and could not prosper and would not have provided these basic enjoyments to the community and Australia.

In recognition of these dedicated people, Wrestling Australia has created two categories of Life Membership

  • Gold Life Membership, and
  • Silver Life Membership

Benefits of Gold Life Membership

  • Free membership to Wrestling Australia
  • Free entry to Wrestling Australia events
  • Acknowledgement on the Wrestling Australia website as a Gold Life Member

Benefits of Silver Life Membership

  • Free membership to Wrestling Australia
  • Acknowledgement on the Wrestling Australia website as a Silver Life Member

Nomination Criteria- Guide to Gold Life Membership

Gold Life Memberships may be recommended for any outstanding contribution to Wrestling in Australia. The following do not attempt to be exhaustive guidelines, but rather to ensure the intent of the Award is to honour the individual’s contribution to Wrestling in any of the Gold Life memberships Categories.

The scope of the types of contributions that could be awarded, are as follows:

  • The nominee has made a direct, recognised, and significant contribution to the success of the sport of Wrestling beyond that to an individual club in any one, some, or all of the following elements:
    • Leadership, Status, positive and community impact, Management, Strategic Direction, Governance, Professionalism, Operation of Wrestling over a period of at least 10 years
    • The nominee has made a direct, recognised, and significant contribution to the sporting success of Wrestling over a period of 10 years.
    • The nominee has made a direct, recognised, and significant contribution to the success of Wrestling, as an official, committee person, delegate, or volunteer of a member’s club over a period of 10 years.

Nomination Criteria - Guide to Silver Life Membership

Silver Life Membership may be recommended for any highly meritorious contribution to Wrestling in Australia that is deserving of recognition. The following do not attempt to be exhaustive guidelines bur rather to ensure the intent of the Award is to honour the individual’s contribution to Wrestling.

The scope to the types of contributions that could be awarded, are as follows:

  • The nominee has made a direct, recognised, and significant contribution to the success of the sport of Wrestling beyond that to an individual club in any one, some, or all of the following elements:
  • Leadership, Status, positive and community impact, Management, Strategic Direction, Governance, Professionalism, Operation of Wrestling over a period of at least 5 years
  • The nominee has made a direct, recognised, and significant contribution to the sporting success of Wrestling over a period of 5 years.
  • The nominee has made a direct, recognised, and significant contribution to the success of Wrestling, as an official, committee person, delegate, or volunteer of a member’s club over a period of 5 years
