95th New Zealand National Olympic Wrestling Championships 

Dates: 26th and 27th of September 2025

Information 

Venue:  Caledonian Gymnasium, 265 Andersons Bay Road, Dunedin. 
All entries and payments for competition must be made by Wednesday, 17 September 2025 (No Late Entries Will Be Accepted)
Wrestling NZ will be TRIALLING including the U9 Age Group category this year
• Caledonian Gym will be open from 7.30am on both days.
• Sessions to be run throughout the day on two mats with a lunch break on each mat at separate times.
• Medal ceremonies will be held at the conclusion of each day.
• All coaches in corners must wear team uniform or black track pants and team t-shirt/hoodie, as well as wrestling boots.

FRIDAY - 26 September 2025
7.30 am Caledonian Gym open and scales available to check weight

8.00 am - 8.30 am Weigh-in for:
Male and Female Freestyle U9
Male and Female Freestyle U15
Male and Female Freestyle U20
Male and Female Freestyle Veterans (35+)
Male Greco-Roman U17
Male Greco-Roman Senior

9.45 am Team March-in & Opening Ceremony (Team uniform to be worn)

10.00 am Coaches/Managers’ meeting

10.30 am Wrestling competition starts

SATURDAY – 27 September 2025
7.30 am Caledonian Gym open and scales available to check weight
8.00 am - 8.30 am Weigh-in for:
Male and Female Freestyle U13
Male and Female Freestyle U17
Male and Female Freestyle Senior
Male Greco-Roman U20

9.45 am Team March-in & Day 2 Ceremony (Team uniform to be worn)

10.00 am Coaches/Managers’ meeting

10.30 am Wrestling competition starts

ENTRIES
• U9 & U13 cannot wrestle in any other Age Group category.
• U15 can wrestle in U17.
• U17 can wrestle in U20.
• U20 can wrestle in Seniors.
• Veterans can wrestle seniors, but not compulsory.
• All entries (for each Division) must be submitted by the Club Secretary (or nominee) on the attached spreadsheet and emailed to: Brian Roche brian.roche.nz@gmail.com and Chris Storrie storrie832@gmail.com by Wednesday, 17 September 2025.
• All athletes must be registered members of WNZ or their international federation (if applicable).
• No entries will be accepted on the day for any division or category.
• No late entries will be accepted after Wednesday, 17 September 2025.

ENTRY FEES
• The following fees apply to all wrestlers:
• $55 for First Division category
• $20 for Each Extra Division
• All fees must be paid prior to weigh-in by all competitors and can be direct credited into Taieri Amateur Wrestling Club A/C 12-3485-0006550-00 by Wednesday, 17 September 2025. Please use your Name/Club/Nationals as reference.
• No cash/EFTPOS will be accepted on the day.

WRESTLING UNIFORM
• For weigh-in athletes must wear wrestling singlets or rash top & shorts only.
• During competition all athletes must wear either wrestling singlets, wrestling boots, 
short sleeve rash top, shorts (no zips, buttons, pockets) and bare feet.
• Coaches must be wearing team uniform or long black pants (no jeans or shorts in the 
corner), along with wrestling boots or non-marking sports shoes.
• For medal presentations, athletes must be wearing team uniform.
