Appointment of National Development Coaches - Wrestling

Published Mon 14 Jul 2025

CombatAUS is pleased to announce the appointments of Jayden Lawrence OLY and Tayla Ford OLY to the newly created National Development Coach roles within the Wrestling High Performance Program.
These appointments follow a targeted recruitment process led by CombatAUS, with panel representation from the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and an independent expert.

All applicants were assessed against a structured rubric aligned to the key responsibilities of the roles.
Jayden and Tayla were identified as the strongest candidates based on their technical expertise, athlete development experience, and alignment to the long-term strategic priorities of the LA2028 and Brisbane 2032 performance cycles.
Both coaches will work under the leadership of the Wrestling National Performance Lead and CombatAUS High Performance Director, supported by Individual Coach Development Plans (ICDP) and access to ongoing professional development through CombatAUS and the AIS High Performance Coach Development program.
These roles mark a significant step forward in the building of a more structured and strategically aligned high performance system for Wrestling in Australia. With dedicated technical leadership now supporting both senior and junior athlete cohorts, the program will be better positioned to deliver targeted international exposure, improve athlete progression pathways and meet future podium goals at pinnacle events.
